Alex Velez hails from San Juan, Puerto Rico where he has led a nomadic existence bartending all over the USA including cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas amongst other cities. Alex has followed the competition circuit for some time now, racking up an extended list of awards & accolades including winning the Best Bartender in Las Vegas 2009. Alex is a founding member and former Vice President of the United States Bartenders’ Guild, New Mexico chapter. Alex has presented and moderated an array of seminars at Tales Of The Cocktail in New Orleans. Along the way he's picked up a wide array of avant-garde culinary techniques that he incorporates to create cocktails with an immersive experience and unique multi-sensory approach. Alex been educating and judging spirits specially Rum for over a decade. Alex was part of the development team and Beverage Director behind Lost Spirits Distillery in Las Vegas Nevada. Alex is featured as one of the top mixologists from the Netflix hit series Drink Masters.
