Best Bordeaux Blend <$50 & Best Overall Bordeaux Blend - Ferrari-Carano 2023 Trésor

Ferrari-Carano claimed dual honors with its 2023 Trésor, earning both Best Bordeaux Blend under $50 and Best Overall Bordeaux Blend. A benchmark Sonoma County expression, Trésor continues the winery’s long tradition of crafting elegant Bordeaux-inspired blends that overdeliver on structure and refinement.

The 2023 vintage impressed judges with its aromatic lift and seamless balance, showcasing vibrant fruit layered with subtle oak influence and a polished, clean finish that defines its overall appeal.

Great nose with hints of violet, graphite, and vanilla. Good finish that finished clean.

Best Premium Bordeaux Blend >$50 - Thirty-Seven Wines 2022 Reserve “The Hermit”

In the premium category, Thirty-Seven Wines earned top honors for its 2022 Reserve “The Hermit.” Sourced from the Petaluma Gap, this Bordeaux-style blend stood out for its depth and structural elegance, offering a powerful yet composed expression of the vintage. The wine’s layered character and dramatic finish distinguished it among premium entries, delivering both richness and precision.

Lovely depth of character, complex with good structure with warmth a breathtaking finish.

Best Non-Bordeaux Blend <$50 & Best Overall Non-Bordeaux Blend - SEAN MINOR 2024 SIGNATURE “Nicole Marie” Red Blend

Sean Minor captured two major titles in the Non-Bordeaux category with its 2024 Signature “Nicole Marie” Red Blend, earning both Best Non-Bordeaux Blend under $50 and Best Overall Non-Bordeaux Blend. The wine impressed judges with its expressive fruit and balanced structure. Approachable yet structured, the 2024 vintage demonstrates how non-Bordeaux blends can achieve complexity and harmony while remaining accessible.

Nice black fruits, hints of vanilla, and black pepper, with a nice finish.

Best Premium Non-Bordeaux Blend >$50 - Frogtown Cellars 2022 Estate Reserve “Indefatigable”

Rounding out the category winners, Frogtown Cellars earned Best Premium Non-Bordeaux Blend for its 2022 Estate Reserve “Indefatigable.” The wine’s vibrancy and energy set it apart in a competitive field of premium blends. With lively acidity and savory nuance, this blend reflects a dynamic, modern approach to red winemaking, delivering freshness alongside depth.
