Gerald Weisl

A life-long California resident, Gerald Weisl grew up in the wine industry, first visiting cellars when there were perhaps just 17 wineries in the Napa Valley. He’s a prominent Bay Area wine merchant, owning Weimax Wines & Spirits, a “destination” wine shop located in Burlingame. Gerald travels extensively in search of good wine and has been a judge at the prestigious San Francisco International Wine Competition for nearly two decades. Known as “The Fastest Glass in the West,” he’s the youngest member of a monthly Bay Area wine-tasting group that celebrated its 45th anniversary earlier this year. Gerald claims “wine drinkers improve with age.” He’s been judging (and causing chaos) at the San Francisco International Wine Competition since the early 2000s.
