We are thrilled to announce that Stranahan’s Original Single Malt Whiskey has been awarded Best American Single Malt Whiskey at the 2024 New York World Spirits Competition. Handcrafted in Denver, Colorado, Stranahan’s Original is aged in new American oak barrels for a minimum of four years and cut to proof with Rocky Mountain spring water. Tasting notes include caramel-butterscotch, vanilla, and maple syrup on the nose, with a palate of cinnamon butter, chocolate, and spiced pear, finishing with hints of cayenne, rich tobacco, and aged leather.
The competition was fierce, with notable finalists contending for the Best in Class Award. Stranahan’s Mountain Angel 12-Year-Old Single Malt Whiskey stood out with its deep amber color and complex flavor profile, featuring notes of dried fruit, toasted nuts, and a long, warming finish. Lost Woods 88 American Single Malt Whiskey impressed judges with its smooth texture and balanced flavors of honey, vanilla, and subtle oak, culminating in a clean, satisfying finish.
This accolade underscores Stranahan’s commitment to quality and innovation in the American single malt category. Congratulations to all the finalists for their exceptional contributions to the world of whiskey.
